Harris Teeter tripling coupons this week

Harris Teeter is tripling coupons this week - Wednesday, 5/27/09 - Tuesday, 6/2/09. I sure wish I had a Harris Teeter in my area!! But since some of you do I wanted you to make sure you knew about the details. You can read coupon matchups here and here. There is a limit of 20 coupons tripled per day.

Great CVS deal - $6.02 profit on Neutrogena!

So I turned on my computer this morning after taking a break yesterday to read about this great deal everyone is finding at CVS.

There is a deal this week - buy 2 Neutrogena suncare or sunless tanning products get $10 in ECB's (limit 1 deal). Here's the best part - the 1 oz. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 55 tubes that are priced at $1.99 are counting towards this deal!



So buy (2) for 1.99 = $3.98 and get $10.00 back in ECB's, making this a profit of $6.02!!!

Memorial Day...

...was originally called Decoration Day and is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. I hope that you take some time out of your family gatherings and time off from work today to remember and thank someone that you know that has fought for our freedom.

No picture of the my deodorant and other deals but I did manage to snag some more refill packs of Huggies wipes on clearance for $1.62 again this week! I am going to have a great baby's gift for a friend with all these wipes! I am not sure why more suddenly appeared again but maybe they had them in their back room and hadn't put them out yet. You might want to check your stores again just to make sure you store doesn't have more. I blogged about this in this post.

Publix

I want to explain more about my shopping budget and stockpiling but that will have to wait till next week. But I did want to mention that I am changing my shopping day for Publix from Monday (the end of their sales ad) to Friday (more in the middle of their sales ad) so that way I can show you on Saturday about deals that are still good and not deals that are over already. So these deals are current deals you can get at Publix now through Tuesday/Wednesday (depending on your area). I blogged about these deals here.

I split my transaction up into 2 transactions so I could use 2 $5/$25 RiteAid coupons.

Total $87.11

- 45.54 in coupons
I paid $41.57

The BBQ sauce and Kraft dressing was free and the A-1 was $0.10.

Do you get the Red Plum insert by mail?

I just found this and thought I would share this with my readers. Redplum or Valassis inserts have been discontinued in many Sunday papers. I fortunately still get them in my Sunday papers, but I also get a mailed complete copy in the mail on either Tuesday or Wednesday inside of a bigger Redplum edition that has mostly fastfood and services coupons. Go here to Valassis's website to request a copy of the Redplum/Valassis to be directly mailed to you. I am not sure if this will be available everywhere but it is worth a try for more free coupons!

Crazy Coupon Capers

I didn't do much shopping this week but I will share the great deal I got on electrasol at Publix. I found out that the smaller boxes of Electrasol were ringing up BOGO which made them $2.00 each! Paired with the $2.50 coupon from the newspaper, I knew that meant at least free and maybe even overage! :) I expected the shelf to be empty but I guess since it was an unadvertised deal the shelf was packed full when I got there.

Here's what I got.

17 boxes of electrasol x $2.00 each=$34.00

- $34.00 in coupons (they adjusted them down to the price of the item, so no overage)

Free Do-It-Herself Workshop at Home Depot!

I love working outside in my yard! In fact I am the primary caretaker of yard duties because I enjoy doing it and my husband does not.

In fact here is a yard project that I have been working on:

I planted 3 Canna Lilly - Lucifer and Cherry Red (will add a 4th one later), then 4 peony bushes - 2 different colors, 3 azaleas, and 2 different types of hosta all around the border. Then added a bird bath and bird feeder which all my birds love!

I still have vegetable plants to plant so maybe I could learn how to do that. I would love to go to this free workshop at Home Depot. I hope that some of you can too! If you do link in and leave a comment about what you learned!

Sunday Sustenance - Happy Mother's Day!

Here is a picture of my mom and my mother-in-law on my wedding day. My mom is on the left and my mother-in-law is in the middle.

I am very thankful for these two people and I am blessed to have a godly mother and mother-in-law.

First of all, I am thankful for my mom. If it weren't for her, I would not be doing this blog today, because I don't know if I would have known how or cared about trying to shop frugally and always look for the best deal. I am thankful that my mom was a stay-at-home mom who sacrificed a lot to take care of us, and homeschool myself and my siblings. I am thankful that she taught me how and instilled a love and desire to take care of my home - cleaning, cooking, sewing, etc. I am also thankful that I was raised in a Christian home that made sure that I was in church and knew about the things of God. I am the woman I am today mainly because of my mom!

I am also thankful for my mother-in-law. She came into my life about 8 years ago when her son and I started dating and let me tell you there are no mother-in-law jokes told here! I have enjoyed getting to know her and enjoyed many shopping outings together. I am also thankful for her willingness to teach me even more about homemaking - in making cakes and decorating my home, and more.. But I am most thankful to her for raising a godly, wonderful man that I now have as my husband! He is a wonderful husband and I am so thankful that he was raised in good, godly home by a wonderful mother that helped make him the way he is today.

Proverbs 31 speaks of the virtuous woman and verse 28 says - "Her children arise up, and call her blessed..."

Mom and my Mother-in-law - you are blessed!

Free KFC Grilled Chicken Meal coupons now being turned into a Raincheck??

I was checking KFC's site and saw this announcement regarding the free grilled chicken meal coupons that we were all printing just yesterday. They apparently had such an overwhelming response that they are not going to be redeeming any more coupons but will be issuing rain checks for varying time periods for a free meal AND a free Pepsi. Their website states that you still must bring your coupon to a KFC store before it expires on May 19th and they will give you the rain check form. I know my mom was able to redeem a coupon today at our local KFC so you may find that some stores are redeeming them and some stores are issuing rain checks. Leave a comment if you wish letting all of us know if you have been able to redeem your coupon or not.

Freebies at Arby's every Wednesday throughout the summer- no coupon necessary!

So I went to Arby's on Wednesday for my free FruiTea and saw signs everywhere for "Arby's Freebies Wednesday's" So I asked the cashier and she referred me to a large poster of a calendar on which was scheduled out all the free things they will be offering on Wednesday's for the whole summer. There is no coupon necessary for these deals as long as your local Arby's is participating. No more just "free" items, but most weeks are pretty good with a free sandwich with only the purchase of a drink.

The words in bold are my favorite phrases of the song. The 2nd and 5th verse were new to me and I love the words to the 5th verse - "Still the small inward voice I hear, that whispers all my sins forgiven..."

I hope that you can proclaim as the song says "No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine!" But if you can't, the words of the first verse are for you - "Amazing Love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?" Christ did die for you so that you can have no condemnation to dread and can be loosed from the chains of sin.
