For my local readers there is a newspaper in our area that is FREE and actually contains coupons – the Henry Neighbor!

7 years ago…

I was getting ready for the biggest day of my life – our wedding day!  I had planned and talked through every detail with my girlfriends for the last year.  And I had scrimped and saved and planned some more! 

The planning was done, the decorating was done … the day was finally here!

I anxiously awaited the time to walk down the aisle to marry my best friend.

The time finally came – it felt surreal, like a dream come true!

There he was – the one God had prepared for me, my perfect match! 

I never thought then that I could love him anymore, but 7 years later I know that I definitely do!

We have so much fun together – he truly is my best friend!

I love the pictures from that day and the memories they helped capture!

And 7 years later we are still enjoying walking through life, hand in hand…

together!

Conquering the paper monster

Do you have a paper monster in your house?  I know sometimes I feel like I do!  He tries to take over my house, even though I try my best to keep him out. 

I am still working my plan to go through every room, every closet, every drawer, etc. in my house this year.  The study or home office was the last room downstairs to conquer.  I have to admit, it had gotten very bad.  It seemed to be a catch all for everything that I didn’t have time to take care of right then.  So my pride aside – here is my horribly messy room:

 

Aghhhhhhh!!  Coupons in floor needing to be sorted, paper everywhere, office supplies stacked around and under the desk – needless to say not much work was getting done in this office.

These are expired inserts – needing to be bagged and taken to recycling.

 

After a few hours of work, sorting, and throwing out - so much better!

 

We can actually work in this room now.  We still need to do some decorating and re-arranging but at least it is functional now.

Wow, there is actually carpet in there!

  

Coupons cleaned out, sorted, and organized! 

Still need to work on re-arranging, categorizing books on the bookshelves but that will have to be another day.  At least they are on the shelves and not on the floor!

It’s the time of the year when photo deals seem to be popping up everywhere.  CVS has their photo DVD FREE after ECB’s this week.  And CVS should be having a sale on their photo books (possibly even FREE after ECB’s!) soon – they have had them FREE the last 2 years in July/August!

Walgreens has 75% off their 5x7 photo book on sale through Wednesday, June 30th!  Regular price is $9.99 so that would make them $2.50!  I am working on making one of our vacation pictures and I really like the fact that I can do it home (vs. having to do it in store at CVS) AND I was able to select a custom cover (making one of my photos be the entire cover on the book) and the price still stayed at $9.99 before coupon!

How to turn those Schick Hydro razors into a moneymaker!

Now with all rebates and items bought with ECB’s and RR’s, it will depend on how they process the rebate.  If the total on your receipt is showing a total less than the price of the razor you might have an issue.  I plan to submit my Publix receipt (the razor was FREE after a Publix coupon and the manufacturer coupon) but I bought other things so the total on my receipt will be more than the price of the razor.

Vacation recap

Thought I would share with you some things my husband and I did while on vacation last week.  As I look at these pictures, I am so missing the sound, smell, and view of the beach and certainly not enjoying being back at work!  :)

We loved the view from our balcony!  We ate all our meals in our hotel room on this balcony.  It was the first thing we went to in the morning and the last place we left at night.  Wish we had a view like this in our backyard.

 

We spent every morning/early afternoon at the beach!  One day it was really windy, making the waves bigger than usual.  We enjoyed trying to “body board” on the waves. 

 

We would leave the beach, walk a few feet to cool off in the pool, and then enjoy soaking up some sunshine in a comfy lounge chair.

We did some shopping at my favorite place – the outlets!

 

And we shopped at Broadway at the Beach – a local favorite of unique shops all surrounding a huge lake/inlet.

We saw some great fireworks.

 

And we made some great memories by getting professional pictures done at the beach.  (It was a late birthday/early anniversary present to me from my husband!)  We had not had professional pictures done since our wedding almost 7 years ago and it was always a dream to get pictures done at the beach.  Even though have been married 7 years this month, we are still newlyweds!

 

 

 

Now I just need some free or cheap 8x10/ 5x7 photo deals so I can print these to put in frames throughout the house :) Let me know if you find some!
