This is the scene that greeted us when we woke up on Monday morning here in Georgia! And what a pretty and welcome site it was!
We are loving all this white stuff, but probably just enjoying the snow days off work more! :)
We have had lots of entertainment on the back deck. The birds were fighting over my one bird feeder so I put a huge pile of seed right on top of the ice so they could share! :) They have been a lot of fun to watch (for our cat too!)
We have 3 pairs of cardinals (3 males and 3 females) that live in our backyard. Love their bright red against the snow and brown of winter!
And lots of wrens or finches that have nested and been raised in our ferns on the front porch every spring since we have lived here.
So what is your January looking like? Lots of white stuff, just cold, or are you still wearing flip-flops? :)
Lots of green! I live in Milpitas, CA, which is next to San Jose, and about 45 to 50 miles south of San Francisco. Our brown time of year is summer. "Golden" hills. No rain during the summer, which means high fire danger. But it has been cold! East of here, it actually got down to 28 degrees! I think we had about 38! THAT is cold for here! It has gotten down to freezing here before; it has actually snowed here a few times! I think last time was about 10 years ago (it didn't stick) and then back around '74 it did snow enough to stick for awhile. No snow day, though.
