  1. You are the grocery master, I love these posts. Sweet potatoes are awesome! A really healthy way to eat them is just to bake them in the oven and when they are done just sprinkle some cinnamon in then rather than butter or brown sugar. Really yummy! And I haven't tried this yet, but there are some yummy looking sweet potato oven fries over here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Perfect-Oven-Sweet-Potato-Fries/

Another dish I though of trying:

  2. Hey Christina,
This is not the healthiest recipe, but it was so good. A friend of mine from here (actually there at ABC now) gave this to me.

    Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes
    3 cups sweet potatoes
    6 T. milk
    3 egg yolks
    3/4 t. salt
Mash these together and place in a baking dish

    Topping
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    6 T. butter, melted
    6 T. corn syrup
    6 T. chopped pecans
Mix these together and bake @ 350 for 20 minutes

It's soooo good. Let me know if you try it.

  3. I really wish I could shop like this. I try SOOO hard and I have a little one I support on my own... and engaged but I take on my own household right now.... which is tight. TEACH ME PLEASE!?!?

    On sweet potatoes
I add them to stew- cubed. I add them at the same time as the potatoes so they aren't to mushy.
I cook them like mashed potatoes but I add a bit of honey and cinnamon to make a 'sweet dinner treat' that even the pickiest eaters will go for.
Sweet potato pie is excellent for a late summer eve accompaniment to a steak dinner (the not-so sweet version)
I add them to ground beef with squash and steam. Making small cubes that cook quickly. Sometimes you need to boil them for a bit first and add them when you add the zucchini or squash.

As you can tell I LOVE them so I try and use them everywhere.
